A content writer and a copywriter are the same, are not they? They both create online and offline content. You can think they're just bizarre professional terms for a writer.

In fact, they are very different. A content writer and a copywriter have some similar skills, but they also have some obvious differences.

Content marketing writing means the creation and the exchange of a valuable free content to attract the potential customers and convert them into buyers.

Copywriting makes the reader take concrete actions. Sometimes it can be a purchase, but it can also be subscribing to your email list or signing up for your content.

When a content writer creates something, they most often use keywords, meta tags, and site links. These can be articles, blog posts, newspaper articles, official documents and any other types of long form.

Content writers usually write content with longer word count and complex details. It works best when their content is also available on the Internet.

And how does they differ from copywriters?
Copywriters are usually used in advertising and specialize in writing short copies. Their work is important in campaigns where it is necessary to convince a person to think or act in a certain way.

Usually, such effect is achieved with a the help of a short story that causes emotions and creates a personal connection with the audience.

However, it's hard for people to focus on ads articles on the Internet for a long time, so briefness is vital for a copywriter.

For example, if you need someone to write about definition essay topics, a content writer will provide a large amount of useful information about the type of such essay and give specific examples, while a copywriter would prefer to leave links to reliable resources and companies that offer similar services.

If you write good articles that people would like to read, but you do not get the traffic you want, here’s what can cause it:

  • Your titles may be too boring. If they are cliché, it does not give people any reason to go and read more.
  • Your titles may be too smart. If so, you simply show how much smarter you are than the readers, since you know the meaning of certain words.
  • You do not think about benefits that your content can give the readers. A product should have benefits for the buyer and your content should be useful to the readers, or they won’t return to your site.
  • Your content does not create trust. Change your attitude, carefully check all the facts and think about how you can draw attention and gain the readers’ trust.
  • You don’t have a clear call to action. It allows people to find out what you want them to do next. Remember that copywriting is the art of persuading your reader to take concrete actions.
  • Generate pleasant content. No one likes too much advertising. If your content is similar to an ad, it will be skipped or discarded. You should make it too valuable to throw it away. Always try to disguise your ads carefully with the help of useful and readable content.
  • Do not overdo with SEO. Content marketing helps you to make your article visible on search engines but do not only focus on this thing. Always write for people first, and then add some supporting stuff so that new readers can find you.

If we are talking about working for a particular company, then the content writers and copywriters should work together to create relationships with customers and consumers and to increase traffic for the website.

Therefore, although they have different responsibilities, all their skills are ultimately useful for creating a company's brand.
In fact, a good content is unrivaled in building mutual understanding, delivering ads messages and attracting potential customers. But the thoughtful use of copywriting methods on your blog will make the readers subscribe to your updates and share your wonderful articles with other people.

If you combine strategic copywriting with great content, then you are more likely to succeed. It will certainly allow you to create a large and loyal audience.
