Weekly Hoax Post: Miley's Sex Tape

Every week there’s another hoax post that fuels outrage on the Web. We’re going to share them with you along with some lessons learned. It’s YOUR duty to spread the word, so that outraged folks can focus on the truly outrageous, like Madonna’s armpit hair. 

This week we're covering the existence of the supposed Miley Cyrus sex video. Does it really exist? How should we know? A mysterious link is floating around Facebook that could compromise your account though!

Before you read any further…please know that some of the images are NSFW!

What You'll See

A video still image of something so outrageous and incredulous that your finger itches to click that mouse button. But why? Haven't we practically seen Miley naked anyway? By clicking you're obviously in it for the skin. But, that isn’t going to happen -- matter of fact, not even close. You will not actually see the Miley vid - you will be redirected to a phony page with yet another still video image. You will see THIS:

The image floating around Facebook has full nudity. The naughty bits have been covered to keep from scarring your eyes for life.

Red Flag #1: See how the page is made to still look like Facebook? The address isn't even right! But you still wanna see Hannah Montana all grown up and in the buff?

Red Flag #2 This is where your Facebook account gets compromised! Please don't click this -- no matter how bad you wanna see naked Miley.

Red Flag #3 If you sit too long deciding whether or not the embarrassment of sharing this is worth it, you'll see this. The page is designed to look like YouTube this time, but really isn't. I don't have to tell you NOT to click, right?

Why You'll Fall For It

It looks real! You want it to be true! You want to see raunchy action and lots of skin. Or perhaps you're just curious (right...let's be honest here). None of know what happened to Miley. She certainly IS different from her Hannah Montana days, huh? She grew up and she's cute (in her very own special way). THAT is why you will fall for it.

What Will Happen

Just like the man eating python post that made it's rounds on Facebook a while back. "You just gave someone access to your Facebook account, and who knows what they’ll do from that point? Like pages using your name? Send malware links to your friends?"

The point is: Clicking image links like the Miley one can be harmful to the Facebook account you enjoy, it can be embarrassing if shared, you are also putting your friends at risk and possibly putting your device/coputer at risk.
