Before Thanksgiving feasts are even prepared, American consumers are blasted with media – urging them to spend, spend, spend just as soon as they’ve finished their last bite. But what about those who can't?
The holiday season boosts annual profits for a variety of businesses - particularly in the retail and service industries - whether shopping is done in-store or online, and most businesses spend much of their time and marketing budgets ensuring that their customers know of every sale, bonus, or perk on offer while shopping their brand. With all the money coming in during Black Weekend, not to mention the rest of December, it’s a perfect time for businesses to pay a little forward.
But isn’t that what #GivingTuesday is about? Sure. But is one day really enough? Businesses rake it in for weeks while consumers spend up a storm to lavish gifts upon family and friends. In the midst of all that commercialism, it takes more than one day of giving back to balance the cosmic scales. So why not devote some of your business’ resources to promoting even more generosity to those in need? Your customers will love you for it, which will mean loyal business the rest of the year.
