Asking any casual smartphone users about what is the problem they face the most regarding mobile internet use, you may hear about the speed of internet as the very first complaint. It is a fact that the mobile internet usage will automatically go faster when you reduce data usage. This excerpt will help the mobile internet users to improve the speed on your (Android) phone.

Optimizing internet speed on mobile device

Set updates over WiFi only
If you have enabled the automatic app and device updates, set this over WiFi only. While the updating process is running, your internet speed naturally becomes slow. This is because the update takes a significant amount of data. Some of the app updates are quite large and will eat out your entire mobile internet data limit. You can quickly switch off the automatic updates off or set it over WiFi only. Even if you turn off the automatic updates, one can manually do it.

Follow the below steps to switch of automatic updates.

Go to the Play Store app
Open the menu symbol, the three horizontal lines symbol on the top corner on Android phones.
Touch on Settings.
Under General, you may see options as
  • Don’t auto update apps
  • Auto update over Wi-Fi only
Active background data restriction & turn off the auto sync option
If you have activated the background data restriction, this will present any apps of built-in services from working in the background. Doing this will automatically save data, save time, and moreover will let you enjoy increased internet speed.

You can also turn off the "auto synchronous' features if you want to save more data. If not, the best option is to keep it on, so that you can avoid data loss. To change these settings, you can go to:

  • Setting of the mobile phone menu
  • Go to ‘Connections' and then check "Data Usage." To reduce data use
  • Tick the checkbox as restrict background data usage.
  • You can also uncheck the “auto sync data” to reduce data use.

Try to use the pro apps, which are ad free
The free apps will display a lot of ads and promotional content. These are display ads and consume your data. So, naturally, these slow down the internet speed. The best way to avoid this problem is to use the premium apps, which are usually free from ads. Most of the free version apps do have the option to upgrade to the pro version.

It is also an idea to disable the auto download and auto pop-up options on the browser when you are using the internet over mobile. You can change the browser setting according to your wish and turn off the pop-ups will save a lot of data and time, which also naturally increased the internet speed.

If you are running your own business as a start-up, one of the biggest problem entrepreneurs used to face over time is that of uncontrollable debts. Having multiple debts with only meager accounting resources is going to be a troublesome affair. Multiple payouts and the reconciliation become tedious over time, and this is the point where most of the individual business owners run out of control.

An easy and efficient way to get rid of this multiple debt problems is to think of debt settlement or debt consolidation. Many service providers are offering affordable and flexible debt settlement services. However, it is essential to choose reliable and professional service providers when you think of debt settlement. Check for the debt settlement reviews online to identify the feedback and experiences of the previous users to identify one which may work the best for you.

Use of appropriate browser
The usage of a good browser will also help you to control the data usage and increase internet speed. Most of the Android users are found to use the Opera browser. An ideal alternative to try out is Opera Mini, which is a light version of the same. Opera Mini efficiently compresses the web pages to help save the data and thereby speed up mobile internet

However, this browser does not support all the websites out there. Many sites may not be displayed properly on this browser. In such cases, you can use Google Chrome as an ideal alternative.

Usage of data savers as like Google Chrome
This is one of the best tips to save data to increase the internet speed and usage. Even though android browser is the best to use, you can think of using Google Chrome as the primary browser. This is because Google Chrome offers an exclusive data saver feature. When you opt for the data saver feature, Google compresses the web pages with the help of its server. This enables data saver. To do this:

  • First install Google chrome on your cell phone, which can be directly downloaded from Google play store.
  • Select the setting options by touching the three dots top screen at the right corner.
  • Choose “Settings” and then scroll down to “Advanced” option. You can see the “Data Saver” option under the “Advanced” option.
  • Choose "Data Saver."
Set the data limits and alerts
You can see Android OS, and the other main mobile OS offers options to custom set data limits and features, For this go to settings > wireless & networks > data usage > set the mobile data limit. You can also set the warning limits to control the data usage. With this, you need not have to worry about overrunning the subscriber data as well as keep the internet speed optimized.

As most, if we do have WiFi broadband connectivity at home and office, it is ideal to use it when available to save mobile data. Whenever you are closer to home and office WiFi, switch it on instead of using mobile service provider data. Nowadays, many of the public bodies to offer free WiFi as you may use WiFi at the metro stations as well as in many restaurants, libraries, colleges, etc.

There are plenty of ways to save your mobile internet data usage as well as to optimize the speed of internet on mobile. Be diligent and make use of the best available options and technologies to ensure that you get the best out of your mobile data and internet usage.
