Social applications are used both as a medium for interaction and business. During the initial stages, social platforms promoted them that they can connect people. These platforms are known for meeting new people and interacting with them. However, as time passes by, many people began to accumulate these social applications. Thus, they evolved slowly and underwent turns and transformations.


Now each social platform has its very own characteristics and is used for any purposes other than interaction. Today, people use these social applications for various purposes. Notably, social applications have evolved into a huge business medium where sellers get in touch with people and sell their products. The Evolution Of Social Platforms:  
Social applications have grown mostly over a period of time. The reason behind every individual using these platforms has changed with time. Surveys have stated that people spent a large part of their free time on these social applications. These social platforms also began to deliver content that could connect with people easily. So, people began to spend lavish time on social platforms. Over a period of time, social applications have added many features to it, delivering a multitude of advantages for the users. 

Multiple Advantages Of Social Platforms:
Studies reveal that at present, social platforms have become nearly e-commerce search engines. People tend to know about new products available on the market through social platforms. Social sales are witnessing a quick rise in recent times as people have started to rely on social platforms to make purchases. Thus, the approach towards these platforms is turning slowly due to its wide range of advantages. Notably, these social applications are helping many businesses to thrive and grow. Many companies are finding their leads through these social applications and take their business to the next level. A large number of people use it to relieve their daily stress and to rejuvenate their souls. Thus, social platforms have become very important in recent times and have become part of peoples' lives. People use social applications like Snapchat to try out the photo filters that are frequently released by it. 

Snapchat is well known for its wide range of filters that have many color combinations transferring a specific feel to people through its color tone. Users of this platform try out the filters in their photos and upload them. Thus, it is a complete fun application that has Generation Z as its significant users. It also has many stickers that will make the photos much more exciting and engaging. Thus, every social application has unique characteristics that drive people towards it.

The Advent Of New Features:
Social platforms are aware of people's pulse and brought modifications that could make people stay with them. They have an in-depth knowledge of the peoples' thought process and add features that could easily connect people. Hence, people are entangled with these social applications, unknowing ways to come out of it. Many features are also getting added to the social platforms that could easily garner the attention of people. 

The 'stories section' of Facebook and Instagram can be highlighted as the best example. These stories usually last only for seconds. Both videos and images can be uploaded in this story section. Since stories have only a shorter duration, people use to feel that they can finish seeing the content quickly. Thus, the stories section, which usually lasts only for minimal seconds, is framed according to the pulse of people. In the present era, people are more inclined towards knowing everything quickly. They need everything to be done quickly since they are racing against time. So, the stories section has been introduced to comfort people as they can complete seeing a story in a short time. Today, the stories section is considered one of the factors driving people to continue to use social platforms. A recent survey revealed that the stories of Instagram, Facebook have 4x higher engagement than ordinary posts. People are checking the stories section as soon as they log-in to these social applications. Hence, the stories section has gained a vast reach due to its shorter duration. Many interactive stickers are also added as part of these social applications providing a better engagement to people. 

A large number of people after uploading new photos post them to the stories section due to its higher engagement. People are using this application largely due to the filters of various color tones provided by it. Pinterest is a social application that is dedicated exclusively to images. People can surf and find a chunk of images related to any topic on this platform. They can save those images and also use them externally. A large number of people use this social application to know about a wide range of images. The platform itself suggests new collections to people based on their interests and saved images. Thus, people who have a great interest in viewing new images can make use of this platform.  

The Concept Of Niche Platforms: 
Niche platforms are seeing a massive rise in recent times. Though it is still in the evolving process, one can find a platform that matches his interest. For instance, if someone is interested in logo design, he can go with platforms like Dribble and Behance.
