5 Tips for finding the right PPC marketer

You are currently in the market to look for a business or an individual that can help increase your website’s pay-per-click revenue, but you don’t know where to start.  Looking through thousands of businesses that specialise in PPC online can be a minefield, and at the end of the day, how will you know if you’ve chosen the right one for you?



You’ll find below a list of five helpful tips for finding the right pay-per-click marketer for you and your business.



There are plenty of websites that offer PPC advice, sometimes they point you in the right direction, but more often than not you are lead down a path that doesn’t always end up at the correct destination.

Tip 1 - Technical ability
The technical ability is in the number one spot for helpful tips.  If the agency you have approached can’t answer a simple technical question that you can answer, then they aren’t worthy of your time or money.  A PPC agency must be able to tackle an increasingly complex technical landscape.


The agency that you choose for your business needs to have a plethora of talent inside their business, for your business to see results.  This can either be an individual who understand how small businesses work and has worked on many PPC requirements, or a larger PPC agency that has an array of talent and a multitude of departments to guide you through the process.

Tip 2 - Business acumen
Research is the vital key to finding out whether the agency you are interested in working with is able to assist with your PPC needs.  Enquire as to who their current clients are, start with their website and existing case studies, look out for testimonials that have been offered online.  Once you know the company’s history, you will be closer to making a decision.

Tip 3 - Reporting transparency
All businesses these days are asked to be transparent, which means that you should be able to ask a PPC agency a leading question that you would expect an answer to.  A question like, ‘how many of their PPC clients have had an increase in business since they came on board?’.  They should answer this with relative ease.


It would also be beneficial to know if any of their current clients run a similar business to yours, as this may impact your decision whether to sign-up the PPC agency or not.

Tip 4 - Trust your instinct
Ninety nine times out of a hundred your instinct is correct, so trust yours from the outset.  If the potential PPC agency ‘get you’, and they understand your needs, and more importantly if you feel that everything sits right, then it will be the correct decision to move forward.  If, on the other hand you have a strange feeling, or the agency don’t seem particularly interested in finding out about your business, you should trust your instinct and move on to a different agency.

Tip 5 - Walk away
This is the simplest of all tips.  If the salesperson is offering you a guaranteed 1st page placement on Google turn away immediately.

Instead of getting traffic and customers from an organic source, you’ll end up with ranking for a shoddy term that no one searches for, and empty pockets.

Do not let PPC daunt you, you know your business better than anyone, so spend some time looking for the right PPC agency for you.
