I don multiple hats - writer, teacher, coach, mother and homemaker. But writing is where my heart lies. So at the beginning of my career I took a copyediting role at a publishing house rather than a well-paid HR executive job at a multinational. Just so I could start on my writing career.

I have come a long way since and have written text books, poetry, blogs, whitepapers and ebooks, for clients and mostly ghostwriting. Starting 2018, I decided it was time to change it and started learning about self-publishing. To cut a long story short, I have one short story collection and two non-fiction self-care books up on Amazon.

What makes me unique
I juggle multiple roles and responsibilities but I still manage to get a lot done. It's no chest thumping, but a fact. I live in a family of five - my husband, two kids and father-in-law besides me. My parents stay mere 3km away, and I am their primary caregiver. And past two years have been really difficult as a caregiver. But I still managed to publish 2 books, while managing a freelancing career, a tween & a teen, chronically ill parents, and my own chronic health conditions. I am passionate about time management since I worked full time, and that's what sees me through. And I keep advocating its principles to whoever needs help.

How and why I became a writer
I have been writing poetry since my school days, and in college I started writing fiction. When I started looking for a job after college, I got a copyediting offer from Thomson Press and HR executive offer from Adobe. I chose the former, and here I am, telling you how I became a writer!!

Past work experience and what I’m working on now
I have developed K-12 Computer Science textbooks and tutorials.

My work has appeared in Huffington Post.

I specialize in IT and Education domains, writing blogs, ebooks and whitepapers for B2B SaaS and Software development companies.

Writing advice for those reading
The only thing you need to succeed is write every single day. Even if it's 10 minutes or 200 words a day. Create a routine and stick to it. Even if you write 200 words a day, you would have written 6000 words at the end of the month. Equivalent to 2-3 blog posts or a short ebook. That's also 72000 words at the end of a year. A novella or non-fiction book you can self-publish or start pitching to publishers or literary agents.
