The Namening on Facebook

Facebook apologized to LGTBQ folks it unintentionally tortured with its recent “real name” fiasco – but it’s become a cultural cyber war.

Facebook promised to “work on internal procedures” but that apparently hasn't’ happened in any meaningful way as the insanity as spread wider and wider. More groups are being affected and the hubbub has chummed the waters, attracting anyone with an axe to grind.

Individual users are flagging hundreds of accounts at a time – and the avalanche stands to send many Facebook participants running for other platforms (maybe). This selective targeting has to stop – but how can Facebook address it?
