Work, work, work. Everyday you have to go to work. Some people love their jobs, some people hate it. It’s one of those things that’s either great or awful. Either way we all have to go to work whether we like it or not. Thankfully there are a few ways to make work more pleasant for you and for the environment. Believe it or not your work environment can affect nature’s environment. No one sees the correlation between your work space and the environment but think about it.

If you have a desk job you probably use a lot of paper. Paper can be harmful to the environment because of how many trees are cut down. This is just one example of a desk job hurting the environment. In this post we’re talking about some tips and tricks to keep your work space eco friendly. These tips will help you make the change now which will make your office eco-friendly.

SavoyStewart.co.uk sought to answer this, by surveying 1,703 US office workers on their opinions towards 'green' efforts in the workplace.
Results include:
  • Over 50% of offices don’t employ eco-friendly features.
  • US offices score an average of 2.1/5 for eco-friendliness.
  • Most sought after green office features are eco-friendly designs and architecture (73%).
  • 26% of job applicants choose a role based on how eco-friendly the office is.

Going green
The first thing you want to do to make the switch from your office environment to a more eco friendly environment is to consider some new products you want to purchase. Try to avoid a lot of plastic products. Most office’s don’t have recycle bins. When people purchase a lot of plastic materials, it ends up going to waste somewhere in the environment. You want to steer clear of plastic and try to find more sustainable stationary materials. Follow any green policies your office has in place. Try to stick with chemical free cleaning products.

Keeping green
Keeping an eco friendly environment can also make you more efficient in your work. It’s been proven that your environment can affect the way you work. There’s a link between people’s emotions and their work environment. You can tell a lot about a person based off of their environment (if they have a messy room vs a neat room, things like that). By keeping an eco friendly office environment, it can make you feel fresh and more productive. Make a change today! It’ll benefit you and the environment.
