School has never been easy, learning to navigate relationships away from parents’ watchful eyes. Bullies have always existed, but cyberbullies are a whole new kind of mean. Burnbook App Can Cause Trouble For Teens

Parents are often oblivious to the various apps their teens use to communicate with their peers, but Burnbook is one app they should know about. They’re not the only ones closely monitoring activity on the app. Schools in Texas, Oregon and California have all had issues with Burnbook. But as one social media expert points out, the app is not the problem. Parents have to teach their kids how to behave responsibly on social media. Indeed they do.

Additionally the inclusion of cyberbullying to the Act means that schools could demand cyberbullies hand over their social media account and password information if there were probable cause. So far that hasn’t been necessary, and the schools continue to educate students on the dangers of social media and the consequences of cyberbullying.
