Whether you’re Irish or honorary Irish come March 17, or just tired of the cold and snow that seems to be everywhere this winter, there’s plenty of reason to be thinking “green” right now. (Sorry, Kermit – it’s easier than you think!) Which of these five green bloggers is your favorite shade?
Amanda Thomsen – Kiss My Aster
With a blog name like Kiss My Aster, you might guess that you’re going to get someone with a bit of sass, and you’d be right. Whether waxing affectionate about her “armpit garden,” sharing Ryan Gosling valentines, or ‘fessing up to her “garden center addiction,” Amanda is the kind of green thumb that even someone who could manage to kill plastic plants (that’d be me) can love. Lori Popkewitz Alper – Groovy Green Livin Lori’s description of herself as “a borderline vegan and recovering attorney” (among other things) clues you in to her sense of humor, but the info she shares is no laughing matter. After two of her three children were diagnosed with “life threatening food allergies” she became inspired to live a greener, toxin-free life, and to share information allowing others to do the same. As her tagline says, “Simple change = greener life.” If you want to get there, she’ll show you how. Nicole Sanford – Organic Sunshine Motherhood got Nicole thinking about living “a more natural life,” and she shares her passion for that life on her blog, offering tips on eco-friendly living and organic products – knowing that the right food and products made a difference both inside and out. In addition to writing about green living, she has her own line of organic bath and beauty products: It’s the Balm. Scott Ankeny – Going Green Today Scott Ankeny is a “green personal coach,” with a lofty goal: “To hit the tipping point -11% of the population - and to create a social movement that will lead to lasting lifestyle changes and green product demand, which will help ensure that we all can enjoy clean water, healthy air, and green spaces for generations to come.” The way he plans to do this is by offering free, individual assessments of how you can go greener, improve your own quality of life, and save the planet in the process. Richard Lustig – Winning Lottery Method Is there really a system that can help you win the lottery? Or is Richard Lustig just crazy-super-lucky? Don’t you just HAVE to know???? If you’re curious, you can learn all about his method in his book, “Learn How to Increase Your Chances of Winning the Lottery.” Maybe you’ll get lucky and win a little green yourself. Frane Selak – Bonus Story Truth is said to be stranger than fiction, and this case is the one that tops them all. Having cheated death seven times – and feeling pretty unlucky, even while others told him how lucky he was to have survived time and time again, the cosmic scales balanced and Frane Selak hit the lottery – winning roughly $1 million. But the real jackpot was Frane’s fifth wife, his beloved Katarina. Claiming she was “all he needed at his age,” he gave his fortune away to friends and family. That’s a man with his priorities in order! Whether showcasing the green of good luck, ecological responsibility, or mad garden skills, these bloggers have a passion for the color, and a desire to spread it around. And with spring still feeling just out of reach, we could all use a little green. So check out these folks, and let them know we sent you! IMAGE CREDIT: I LOVE TREES
