DIGITAL MEDIA GHOST | DIGITAL MARKETING
As scary as it is to realize, the New Year is a mere weeks away, which means the time is nigh to contemplate your resolutions for this next calendar-trip around the sun. We know you hate this task, so we’ve figured out one resolution for you – and it’s way easier than dieting.
Your resolution, should you choose to accept it (and you should), is to increase your digital footprint in 2014. Because no matter who you are, or how adept you are at wrangling social media, you can always learn something new and extend your reach.
Here are just a few suggestions to get your gears working: Build a website. Yesterday. You’re handing money to your competitors if your business isn’t online. Don’t know where to start? Let us build your site for you. We can even maintain it if you like. Update your website. If you're already online and it’s been a while since your last overhaul, take a look at your competitors’ sites and consider refreshing your site’s design and/or functionality. Or make a small, but noticeable, tweak – like adding your Twitter feed to your site. Learn a new feature. Be sure you’re getting the most out of your social networking platforms by learning how to use something you’ve yet to try – like scheduled posts on Facebook, or Google AdWords, or the analytics for your blog. Set a new goal. Have 300 “likes” on your Facebook page? Go for 400. Are you validated on Twitter? Make it your mission to increase traffic until you are. Are you posting to your blog once a week? Shoot for twice a week. Join a new social media platform. Resolve to test drive something new for at least three months; that’s how long it takes to get the lay of the land and build a following. But – and this is important – commit, or don’t bother. You’ll give a poor impression if you do it halfway. Not every platform will be right for your business, but you may not know until you try. Whether you go with Pinterest, Instagram, Vine, Reddit, Tumblr, Google+, LinkedIn or something else, just extend your reach by one platform and see where it gets you. Want to be everywhere? It doesn’t take tons of time. Reach out and we can tell you how! You can make one big change, or several small changes, or a combination of the two. The point is do something to be bigger and better in 2014, and see what comes. We’re here to help if you need us.
