Can you even think of a world without social media in the recent times? Just a few years back, it had no existence. People didn’t spend their time browsing Facebook or SnapChat. There was no one run over in the streets while crossing roads - glued to smartphones, and the brands didn’t have a range of powerful social media tools to amplify and enhance their product engagement strategies. But, the time has changed.
It’s almost impossible to ignore social media in contemporary society. Today, almost everybody has a presence in social media. Many businesses are also promoting products and services over social platforms. This has made things easier for everybody including students, presidents and stars. In fact, modern internet users recommend or refer friends to the best services and products over social media. Nevertheless, this has come with cybersecurity issues that some people don’t know about.
In early 2017, the rock band Pup released a video for their song “Old Wounds” that relied on viewers to watch it on Youtube in order to finish the video. It was formatted like a videogame from the 90s, in which you chose a “player” (link to another youtube video centering around one band member), and from there made “choices” for them (AKA more videos to watch in which a player acted out a certain choice), until the player was killed in a video or they got to the end of the song.
