Do you know that 4.43 billion mobile users were counted in 2015 across the world and the number is likely to reach 5.07 billion by 2019? Since the beginning of exploring the plethora of opportunities provided by mobile devices, there had been a tremendous rise in the development of mobile apps.

Companies are looking to expand their business horizon and be available with customers all the time. Mobile plays an important role in a user's life and thus acts as the perfect platform for businesses to reach customers at any point in time.

If you are planning to build a mobile app for your business, then don’t miss out on the facts that you should know about mobile application development.

1)      Right Platform
While going for mobile app development, you should know that there are multiple platforms available for you to choose from. Choosing the right platform is important because it would connect with users better and make them comfortable on the app. If the platform selection is not correct, then users might get pulled back disliking your app.

To reach to a larger scale of audience, few businesses opt to have their app on multiple platforms. But again, this depends on their research of the target audience, demography, product, services and etc.

2)      Cost of the app
While you are planning to build an app, it's important to consider the costing of the app. Getting an app created with multiple high-end features like enhanced UI, AR/VR, maps for navigation, and etc. would add cost as per the need. Also, you need to be aware of the cost quoted by the app developer for his development efforts which may increase or decrease depending on your app requirement.

3)      Start Minimal
While there could be tons of ideas in your mind for your app, it's always advisable to start with the minimum and then basis the response of users on the app, keep on adding features. Introducing an app with heavy functionalities would cost a bomb and if rejected by users may doom the future of the app.

Minimal start approach would encourage you to take step basis user response and then you have new features to introduce to users on a few intervals.

4)      Right Database
There is a non-ending list of apps available in the market. Users are using almost more than one app as per their need and necessity. Hence, it’s obvious that every app ought to have a good database to secure user’s data. It’s extremely important to have a speedy database to improve the performance of your app. Few factors to consider while choosing the right database could be:
  • Data structure
  • Speed and Scalability
  • Data Accessibility
  • Data Security

5)      Legal Agreements
It's a smart move to process the entire payment and documentation through proper legal agreements. This would eventually safeguard you from any unnecessary arguments with a developer that is likely to during or after the development of mobile application. Get a lawyer to prepare the paperwork and share that with the app developer and get it duly signed before the app development.

6)      Timely maintenance
Once a mobile app is developed and presented to users for their use, it does not mean it’s the end of the development. A mobile app has to go through a series of maintenance in regular intervals to keep bugs out of the app.

No one likes a crashed app, and that is why developers need to routinely review the coding of the mobile app to ensure quality output from the app.

7)      App Pricing
It’s on you to decide whether to put a pricing charge for users on using the app. Many companies charge users if they are using the app. To start with, you can charge up to $0.99, $1.99, or more depending on the devices that your app offers to users.

You can also choose to provide offers or discounts during festive seasons to attract users on the app. However, it’s suggested that you should keep the app free during initial days for users to explore.

8)      App Description
Like your app, there would be many apps available for the same purpose. It’s important to ensure that you make your app stand out so that users become interested in using it. In the specific app listing, you could highlight your app by placing a good description under app name.
The description should perfectly sum up the app and users should feel the push to install the app for their usage at least once.

9)      App Promotion
Last but not the least; you have to keep a proactive approach while presenting the app to the world. Right promotion and content delivery could elevate your app to users notice. Whereas, any bad move could downgrade your app and it would get lost in the series of apps.

You can either choose to create a microsite or website that would explain all about your mobile app. You may also utilize all online channels, social media platforms, Pay Per Click (PPC), and etc. to promote your app. This way you would reach out to a larger audience and gain maximum attention to your app.

Conclusion
To conclude with, there would be tons of facts that could help you to know more about Mobile app development. It’s really important to keep these facts in mind and then proceed for app development. It’s more about strategy rather than technicality if you want your app to be successful and in use by users. A well-developed mobile app would run for a long time and make an impact on business gradually.
